With the rising expenses in the agricultural industry, the desire to be more environmentally friendly, and the growing interest in organic products, we decided to look into organic production starting in 2003. In 2005 we transitioned 190 acres and currently have 500 acres of certified organic grain. On the farm we use no-till production methods to help with weed suppression and nutrient management. We rely heavily on cover crops to accomplish this. Our organic crops include corn, soybeans, and barley. Much of our grain is sold to Organics Unlimited in Atglen, PA and Horizon Organic Dairy in Kennedyville, MD. We sell the remainder of the grain to businesses along the East Coast.
